VASIPAP: Since 1966 in the heart of Greek music

VASIPAP Records is a historic Greek record company with deep roots in laiko and traditional song. Founded in 1966 by Vasilis Papadopoulos, originally from Goumenissa in Macedonia, it has continued to serve Greek music with consistency, respect and authenticity. Based in Thessaloniki, VASIPAP has followed a long and distinctive path in discography, becoming a point of reference for Greek laiko song, traditional music, Pontic music, folk music, island music, Smyrnaic music and ecclesiastical music.

Over the decades, the company has worked with great and acclaimed artists of the Greek music scene, including Vasilis Karras, Angela Dimitriou, Stelios Kazantzidis, Apostolos Nikolaidis and others. From traditional productions with artists such as Andreas Vasios, to Pontic collaborations with names such as Giorgos Kesidis, Kostas Karapanagiotidis and Theodoros Pavlidis, as well as island music successes with Maria Nomikou, VASIPAP Records has made an essential contribution to spreading and preserving Greek musical tradition.

At the same time, the company never stood still. With respect for its history and an eye on the present, it also supported more contemporary expressions of Greek song through collaborations with artists such as Sotis Volanis and Giorgos Xanthiotis. Today, VASIPAP continues its journey, giving space to new artists and new creations, always with the experience and reliability of a record company that has served Greek music for more than half a century. Music changes and eras evolve, but the value of authentic Greek creation remains timeless, and VASIPAP Records continues to serve it with passion, experience and respect.
