Stelios Chalkidis

Stelios Chalkidis was born in Lefkogeia, Drama, in 1973, to a family of Pontic origin. He began learning the lyra at twelve with Alekos Kourianidis. His great-grandfather's music and his mother's encouragement helped shape his connection to Pontic tradition. His work combines lyra performance, singing and songwriting.
